| These two photos provide an interesting historical retrospective. They demonstrate how much, and at the same time, how little things change over the years. Station 3 in Sunset Beach is among the oldest active station in Orange County. Back in the days when it was the County Fire Department, Station 3 was all volunteer and boasted a Crown pumper with a GMC squad. Several decades later, it's still the same Station 3 but now under the County Fire Authority. The paid firefighters now have a Ford squad and have to settle for a Seagrave engine since Crowns are no longer available. |
