Brush Unit 1714 is a 1989 Ford F350, 4 X 4.  It is powered by a turbo charged (after market) 7.3L diesel engine with a 5 speed manual transmission.  The unit carries a 250 gallon water tank witch sits atop a custom flat bed that was designed, fabricated, and built by the officers of the Department.  The flat bed and headache rack are covered with Arma-Coating spray on bedliner material.  The pump is powered by an 18HP Honda gasoline engine, and is capable of working pressures greater than 400psi with around the pump foam system.  It is equipped with a booster reel loaded with 200' of 1 inch forestry line, (1) 1 3/4" discharge, and (1) 2 1/2" pump inlet.  The total cost of the unit to the Department as shown in the pictures is less than $6,000.
