Los Angeles City Fire Department Emergency Air Unit 1 is stationed at the LA City Fire Dept. Shops near downtown Los Angeles.  EA1 is a 1982 White designed and purpose built as an Air Unit.  It is fitted with a Bauer Air Cascade system supplied by a Bauer electric compressor powered by a 40kw generator driven off of the trucks PTO.  This system is capable of filling 8 SCBA cylinders at one time and carries 120 spare SCBA and 40 Oxygen cylinders.

Note:  This unit was retired in early 2004, stripped and sold for surplus.

The Bauer Air Cascade System is located at the rear of the unit.

The air cascade on EA1 is capable of filling 8 SCBA cylinders at a time, 4 on each side of the unit.  The filling tubes are located inside the small fold down door at the rear of the unit.
