The primary duties of Los Angeles Fire Department Boat 1 are rescue and minor fire suppression duties.  Fire Boat 1 is a 1969 Drake Craft Boat fitted for firefighting duties by Crown Coach and carries serial number F1578.  Yes, this is a floating Crown.  It is fitted with a 750gpm Waterous pump, floating in its own tank and carries LA City Shop #60224.  It is due for replacement as soon as crews are fully trained in use of the new Boat 1.
