The Glacier Volunteer Fire Department in Juneau, Alaska purchased this tender from Crown Coach in 1971.  F1653 was fitted with with a Detroit Diesel 8v71 diesel engine, 1000gpm pump, and had capacity to carry 2,500 gallons of water.  This tender was one of 3 built by Crown Coach.  The other two being F1042 for Huntington Beach, California and F1376 for Carmichael, California.
