| Huntington Beach's Tender 8201 is this 1955 Crown, F1042. It is fitted with a Hall-Scott 935 gasoline engine, 1250gpm Byron-Jackson Pump, and has capacity to carry 2500 gallons of water. Huntington Beach Fire Chief D. G. Higgins developed the specifications and helped engineer this unit. As originally equipped, it carried two 1" booster lines each 150' long on electric reels, four 1 1/2" pre-connected lines each 100' long and two pre-connected 2 1/2" lines each 100' long. An additional 1,600' of 2 1/2" line is carried in the hose bed. A 600gpm Elkhart deck gun was connected directly to the pump via a 3" gate valve. After serving Huntington Beach, Tender 8201 was sold the the Sierra Brooks Fire Department in Loyalton, CA. In April of 1997, it was declared surplus and put up for sale. It was purchased and currently owned by a CFE member. This tender is one of three built by Crown Coach. The other two being F1376 for Carmichael, California and F1653 for Juneau, Alaska.
