This Crown Firecoach was built for the South Gate, CA Fire Department and delivered in 1971.  She was built with an
open cab and factory equipped with a white fiberglass canopy over it.  Carrying serial number F1660, she served
South Gate as Squad 1 and is fitted with a 54 foot articulated Squrt, a Waterous 1,500gpm pump and a 300 gallon
booster tank.  F1660 is powered by a NTC-350 Cummins diesel motor with a 5-speed manual transmission.
South Gate consolidated its fire protection services with Los Angeles County in 1975, F1660 became LACo Engine
52 and was assigned shop number 49004.  She had the cab enclosed and received other minor upgrades as part of
Los Angeles County's program to modernize its Crown apparatus.
This rig was sold at auction in the late 90s and purchased by a collector.
