| The San Diego Fire Department purchased this rear-mount aerial ladder from Crown Coach in 1975. Truck 8 was powered by a Cummins NTC-350 diesel engine and carried Crown serial number F1753.. The 100 foot ladder was built by Maxim. In 1990, F1753 was placed in reserve status as Truck 29 and retired in 1997 and sold to collector Mike McDonald. It was in very poor condition when it was acquired by Mike McDonald and the decision was made to convert this truck into a tractor. | |||||||||||
