F1472 was the first tractor-drawn aerial built by Crown Coach which was sold to the City of San Diego.  She was assigned as Truck 1 and carried San Diego shop number 1274.  As built, she was powered by a 935 Hall-Scott gasoline motor with a 5-speed manual transmission and fitted with a Maxim 100 foot aerial ladder.
This rig was involved in a traffic accident in the mid-80s which resulted in the removal of the cab.  The cab was replaced with one removed from an American La France Aerochief which the City was disposing of at the time.  The Crown cab was refurbished and used for a time as a desk in the lobby of the Fire Department's headquarters before being donated to the San Diego Fire Department Museum.
