| The Redlands Fire Department purchased this Crown ladder truck in 1975. Carrying Crown Coach serial number F1728, she is powered by a Cummins NTF-365 diesel motor paired with a Spicer 5-speed manual transmission and fitted with a Maxim 100 foot aerial ladder. F1728 took on the role of a reserve truck in 1998 when she was replaced by a new Seagrave Quint. This venerable Crown ladder truck continues on in service as a reserve as of this writing in May 2010 and is known to be the last Crown ladder truck to be in service. |
