This Crown Firecoach Snorkel was the first completely custom built Snorkel manufactured by Crown.  This rig carries serial number F1222 and was built in 1960 for the Snohomish County Fire District #1 in Washington.  She is equipped with a 65 foot Pittman-Snorkel and powered by a Hall-Scott 935 gasoline motor with a 5-speed manual transmission.  F1222 is pictured above in a pre-delivery photo by Warren Bowen at the Crown Factory on 12th Street in Los Angeles with Vice President of the Firecoach Division, Red Willmore in the basket.
Snohomish County sold this Crown in 1973 to Crown Point, Indiana where she is pictured at the bottom of this page.

The first Snorkel built by Crown was on a commercial chassis sold to Elko, NV.
