|John Budke of Washington shares this childhood photo of his with us. It is of Los Angeles County Fire Department Truck 28 which is a Crown Snorkel. Truck 28 was built for the Whittier Fire Department in 1964 where she served as Truck 4. She became Truck 28 when Whittier consolidated it's fire protection with Los Angeles County. She carries serial number F1342, LACo Shop Number 49017, is powered by a Hall-Scott 1091 gasoline engine, 85 foot Pittman-Snorkel, 1,250gpm Waterous pump and 150 gallon water tank.
She was later re-assigned to Station 49 serving the City of La Mirada. The pump and water tank were eventually removed due to weight constraints.
