The Los Angeles Fire Department purchased two identical Crown Snorkels in 1969.  Pictured above is F1571, Los Angeles
City shop number 60229 which was assigned to Wagon 11 serving the MacArthur Park area just west of Downtown.  Both
were powered by 1091 Hall-Scott gasoline motors with Spicer manual transmissions and equipped with a 1,500gpm
Waterous pump, 300 gallon tank, and 50 foot Snorkel.  As built, the Snorkel booms were mounted ahead of the rear axle
and the apparatus featured hose beds that were the full width of the body to hold a hose load of primarly large diameter hose.
F1571 was later reassigned to Station 40 on Terminal Island.
