| What makes this particular Crown pumper noteworthy is the fact that this is the first piece of diesel powered fire apparatus built by Crown. She is powered by a Cummins NTF-380 diesel motor paired with a Spicer 5-speed manual transmission and was assigned Crown Coach serial number F1357. The City of Vernon purchased this Crown pumper in 1964 where she was first assigned to Station 1 and operated as Engine 11. She was fitted with a Waterous 2,000gpm pump and 500 gallon booster tank. She later became the reserve at Station 1 and was renumbered Engine 21. |
