The City of Upland ordered two Crown pumpers in 1974 with F1746 being the second rig delivered.  She originally served as
Engine 163 and is powered by a Detroit Diesel 8v71 with an Allison Automatic transmission.  She is fitted with a Waterous
1,500gpm pump, 500 gallon water tank and hydraulic ladder rack.
Some items of interest worth noting are the running boards which are coated with a rubber like material similar to that found on
boats which results in a truly non-slip surface.  Also the vertical exhaust stack, unknown when this item was added.  And finally,
the original Federal beacon is in place as installed at the factory with the more modern lightbar behind it.  This is a typical item
on Upland Crowns.  She is used today by Ontario, CA Fire Academy classes.
