| The City of Upland ordered two Crown pumpers in 1974 with F1745 being the first delivered where she originally served as Engine 162. She is powered by a Detroit Diesel 8v71 paired with an Allison Automatic transmission and fitted with a Waterous 1,500gpm pump, 500 gallon water tank and hydraulic ladder rack. Some items of interest worth noting are the running boards which are coated with a rubber like material similar to that found on boats which results in a truly non-slip surface. Also, the original Federal beacon is in place as installed at the factory with the more modern lightbar behind it. This is a typical item on Upland Crowns. She is maintained as a reserve engine but is owned by the Upland Fireman's Association. |
