|This 1967 Crown Firecoach pumper was built for the city of Redmond, Washington. She is fitted with a Waterous 1,500gpm
pump, 750 gallon water tank, and was originally powered with a Hall-Scott 1091 gasoline motor paired with a Spicer 5 speed
manual transmission. She was repowered in the early 80s with a Detroit Diesel 8v71 and retained her original transmission.
She carries serial number F1492. She was sold in the late 80s to the Skykomish Fire Department which is part of the King
County Fire Protection District 50.
A few interesting items to note are the dual Grover air horns, recessed battery boxes, and the fact that the cab is fully insulated
with horsehair insulation which was typically used at the time when this rig was built. Also this Crown is one of few that was
equipped with a Rockwell (4:10 ratio) limited-slip differential to help in the snowy and icy weather encountered in WA.
