| Engine 1 was built for the San Luis Obispo, CA Fire Department in 1960. She was powered by a Hall-Scott 935 gasoline motor with a manual transmission and equipped with a 1,250gpm Waterous pump with a 700 gallon water tank. Engine 1 carried serial number F1179. She is shown below several years into her service life now as Engine 4. By now she had a fiberglass canopy added as well as a deck-gun. Cross lays were also added in the narrow space between the hose reels and the back of the engine cover. |
