Engine 1 was built for the San Luis Obispo, CA Fire Department in 1960.  She was powered by a
Hall-Scott 935 gasoline motor with a manual transmission and equipped with a 1,250gpm
Waterous pump with a 700 gallon water tank.  Engine 1 carried serial number F1179.
She is shown below several years into her service life now as Engine 4.  By now she had a
fiberglass canopy added as well as a deck-gun.  Cross lays were also added in the narrow space
between the hose reels and the back of the engine cover.
