|Engine 9109 is a 1966 Crown Firecoach pumper, Crown Coach serial number F1452 and Orange County shop number 5157. It was originally powered with a Hall-Scott 1091 gasoline motor. While being rebuilt by the County in 1983, she was repowered with a Detroit Diesel 6v92TA while retaining her original Spicer 5-speed manual transmission. She is equipped with a Waterous 1,250gpm pump and a 500 gallon booster tank. F1452 was assigned to the La Habra Valley VFD (County of Orange) from 1966 until that station was closed. In 1975 it was assigned to the new Station 9 in Mission Viejo as 9109. After rebuilding in 1983, she was assigned as Engine 38 in Irvine. In 1991, it was assigned to the relief pool as E65A and later renumbered E952.
She was purchased at auction in 1998 by collector Mike Britt and he has restored her to her 1970s appearance. Thanks to Mike Britt for sharing information about his rig with us.
