The City of Orange purchased 2 identical Crown pumpers in 1976.  F1771, shown here, was the first of the 2 delivered and first served as Engine 3.  Both were powered by Cummins 855 diesel engines with Allison Automatic transmissions.  They were equipped with Waterous 1,500gpm pumps and 400 gallon booster tanks.
Prior to retirement in the late 1990s, F1771 served as Engine 22 (Reserve Engine 2) and was later donated to the Santa Ana College Fire Academy.  She continues to serve today at the Academy Training Grounds in Huntington Beach.
