The City of Newport Beach purchased this Crown pumper in 1959.  She carries Crown Coach serial number
F1151 and was powered by a 590 Hall-Scott gasoline motor with a 5-speed manual transmission.  Something
that made this rig unusual is that it was fitted with a Waterous pump that was made of brass along with most of
the plumbing in the rig also being brass.  This was to help prevent corrosion as the seaside location of the city
resulted in frequent drafting out of Newport Bay and saltwater marshes.  The pump capacity was 1,000gpm and
she also had a 400 gallon water tank.
After being retired, she languished for many years in a junk yard in Yermo, CA before being scrapped.
