| Mercer Island purchased this Crown Firecoach in 1964 where she served as Mercer 2. She is powered with a Hall-Scott 935 gasoline engine with a 5-speed manual transmission and fitted with a 1,250gpm Waterous pump and 500 gallon tank and carried serial number F1344. After this rig was declared surplus by Mercer Island, she was sold to the Klamath River Fire Protection District in southern Oregon. F1344 served there for many more years and received several upgrades including new paint and fresh chrome. After the original Hall-Scott motor threw a rod, it was determined that it would not be viable to repair or repower a rig this old and she was sold to a collector. |
