This Los Angeles County pumper is one of the infamous "Toyopet" Crowns, built in 1959.  She carries Crown Coach serial number F1138 and LACo shop number 49150.  This rig had been stored by a collector for many years near Fresno in California's central valley until she was pulled out of hibernation in October of 2007 and donated to the Los Angeles County Fire Museum.
As originally equipped, she was powered by a Hall-Scott 590 gasoline motor with a 5-speed manual transmission, Waterous 1,000gpm pump, 600 gallon water tank, and was built with an open cab.  F1138 first served as Engine 90 in El Monte.
Created January 28, 2008
