Engine 89 was purchased as part of an order of 8 identical Crown Firecoaches delivered to the Los Angeles County Fire Department in 1960.  Carrying  serial number F1184 and LACo Shop number 49174, she was assigned to Engine 89 serving the City of Commerce.  An unusual note is that when this photo was taken in 1975, this rig had escaped the rebuilding process that nearly all open cab LACo Crowns went through to get their cabs enclosed.
She is powered by a Hall-Scott 590 gasoline engine with a Spicer 5-speed manual transmission and fitted with a Waterous 1,000gpm pump and 500 gallon tank.
