Engine 317 was originally owned by the Hawthorne Fire Department until it was consolidated with Los Angeles County Fire.  She was built in 1978 and served as Engine 1 in Hawthorne and carries serial number F1816.  She is powered by a Detroit Diesel engine paired with an Allison Automatic transmission and equipped with a Waterous 1,500gpm pump and 500 gallon water tank.
She is pictured here as a reserve at Station 117 in Lancaster.

F1816 was retired along with many of the County's other Crown is mid to late 2007 but somehow F1816 managed to escape the auction block.  Marc Johnson updates us that she sits partially stripped at the County's Pacoima Shops awaiting disposition.
