Los Angeles City Fire Department Pumper 81 served the community of Arleta and was one of two Crown pumpers delivered to Los Angeles in 1962 wearing this unique (to Los Angeles) chrome yellow color.  P81 carried Crown Coach serial number F1312 and LA City shop number 60142.  F1312 is powered by a Hall-Scott 1091 gasoline engine with a  Spicer  5-speed transmission and fitted with a Waterous 1,500gpm pump with 400 gallon tank.  She was repainted red to match the rest of the City fleet in the 1980s and was reassigned to Station 47 in El Sereno.  Upon being retired by LA City Fire, F1311 was parted out by the City Shops to keep the remaining fleet of Crown apparatus running and the remains were scrapped..

Pumper 80 was identical in specifications and carried serial number F1311, LA City shop number 60141, and served the Los Angeles International Airport.
