| Foam Carrier 112 assigned to Station 112 in San Pedro is a 1957 Crown Firecoach. Carrying serial number F1086 and Los Angeles City Shop number 779, she was originally built as a High Pressure Hose Wagon equipped with two Byron-Jackson 150gpm high pressure pumps and a 400 gallon water tank. She was rebuilt by the LAFD shops in a program that converted a total of four High-Pressure Hose Wagons into Foam Carriers in 1977. The bodies were rebuilt removing the water tanks and hose beds and fitted with 350 gallon foam tanks. All four Crowns that went through this program retained their Hall-Scott 935 gasoline motors and Fuller manual transmissions. |
