Los Angeles City Fire Department Engine 16 is a 1971 Crown Firecoach.  E16 carries LA City Shop number 60256 and Crown serial number F1649.  It is powered by a Cummins 903 diesel engine paired with a Spicer 5 speed manual transmission.  It is fitted with a Waterous 1,500gpm pump and 500 gallon tank.
As built, F1649 was fitted with a 50 foot Pitman Snorkel and served as Wagon 3 in the Downtown area.  F1649 was rebuilt in the early 1990's into triple combination pumpers more typical of the LAFD fleet.
Engine 16 was retired by LA City in 1999 and last served in the community of El Sereno.  E16 is now privately owned.
