Los Angeles City Fire Department Engine 1 is a 1974 Crown Firecoach, serial number F1697, LA
City Shop number 60290.  When new, she was first assigned to Station 26 in the West Adams area
and later at Station 64 in South Central Los Angeles.  In the early 90s, F1697 was assigned to
Station 1 in Lincoln Heights as pictured above.  F1697 was one of nine of the final orders for Crown
fire apparatus by LA City.  She is powered by a Cummins NTF-365 diesel motor with a Spicer
5-speed manual transmission with a 1,500gpm Waterous pump and 400 gallon water tank.
