The City of Garden Grove purchased their first and only Crown in 1980, represented here by serial number F1828 and was the City's first engine purchased for use for paramedic assessment.  She first served as Engine 5 and last as a reserve at Station 4.  She was powered by a Detroit Diesel 8v71 with an Allison Automatic transmission and fitted with a Waterous 1,500gpm pump and 500 gallon tank.  F1828 was sold at auction with a failed pump transmission on August 16, 2003 for $5,100 to a used truck dealer despite attempts by collectors to save her..
