The city of Visalia in California's central valley acquired this Snorkel in 1975.  Sold by Crown Coach, this rig was
built using an Oshkosh cab and chassis with a Pierce body.  Serving as Truck 1, she was powered by a Detroit
Diesel 8v71 with an Allison Automatic transmission.  She was fitted with an 85 foot Snorkel and fitted with a
Waterous 1,500gpm pump with a 300 gallon booster tank.
Crown Coach Corp. was the west coast marketing and sales agent for Pierce Fire Apparatus.  These rigs were
commonly known for having Crown badges affixed to them by employees when they arrived in the Crown plant in
Los Angeles for set up prior to delivery.
