In 1967 the Eugene, Oregon Fire Department purchased this 85 foot Pittman Snorkel fitted to a Pierce body
mounted on a International Harvester chassis.
She served as Snorkel 4 and was powered by a Cummins
NTC-335 diesel motor.
Crown Coach Corp. was the west coast marketing and sales agent for Pierce Fire
Apparatus.  These rigs were commonly known for having Crown badges affixed to them by employees when
they arrived in the Crown plant in Los Angeles for set up prior to delivery.
The rig was assigned serial number
and was one of two pieces of apparatus that Crown assigned serial number to that it did not build.
As of November 2001, it was buried deep inside Eugene's City Yard being held as a reserve.  Since then, it
has been retired and sold.
