| Besides the Crowns, Burbank had several rigs that were certainly a treat for fire apparatus buffs. This Century series American La France was one of very few 3 axle TeleSqurts built by the company and she served Burbank as Engine 11A. Built in 1979, she was equipped with a Waterous 1,500gpm pump, 200 gallon water tanks and 75 foot TeleSqurt. Engine 11A was powered by a Cummins NTC-350 diesel motor with a 5-speed manual transmission. This rig was also the only experiment to date with the Quint concept by the Burbank Fire Department. |
